Equipment has been upgraded mechanically and electrically many times, last big update done in 1998. Plant was functional until October 2012.


1 – Furnace: for heating up slabs up to max 1270° C
2 – heated slabs exit the furnace and are transported via motorized rollerconveyors to the 2 reversing roughing stands
3 – Two reversing roughing stands:
                > 2 vertical cages: 1250 kW & 1500 kW
                > 1 horizontal cage: 10 470 kW
                > Max width reduction in one pass: 140 mm

4 – Slabs continue on motorized rollerconveyors to the finishing stands
5 – Six finishing stands:
                > 6 vertical cages: each cage consists of 2 big workrolls and 2 smaller support rolls
                > Each set of support rolls is powered by an 8000 HP motor
                > 6 MW power per cage / 3000 ton
                > Max speed: 16 m/sec
6 – Finished product passes on motorized rollerconveyors to water cooling table
                > 150 meters long
                > 5000 m3 water/hour
               > 1450 nozzles, max pressure 4,5 bar
7 – After cooling the product goes to the trimmer and gauge station
8 – After trimming the product can be coiled
               > 2 coiling stations
              > Max weight: 35 ton
9 – Finished coils are transported on a conveyor system to a packaging & marking line
