TYPE — B

This type constitutes a range of machines with angularly
adjustable driven rolls and equipped with adjustable idler
rolls; numbering 3 or 5 depending on the particular case,
the 5-roll machines being particularly recommended for
straightening thin-walled tubes.

APPLICATION 

These machines are used for the high-speed straightening of
tubes of all grades, as well as for straightening drawn bars,
whether made of steel or non-ferrous metals.

CONSTRUCTION — Main frame —

The main frame, consisting of 4 parts, is made of cast iron
or steel with transverse tie rods; the rear upright incorporates
the completely enclosed transmission gearbox, while the supports
of the angularly adjustable driven rolls are mounted on the
front of this rear upright.

Drive 

It is transmitted to the motor by a set of V-belts, the final
drive to the rolls being provided by machine-cut double-helical
gears, and the final gear is mounted directly on the roll shaft.

The reduction gears can be arranged to suit any normal speed,
both for the drive motor and for the material passing speed.

Suitable oil seals are provided wherever necessary, and the
rear casing can be easily removed for inspection and maintenance.

Driven rolls 

These are made either of chilled cast iron or of special steel,
depending on the type of material to be straightened.

Idler rolls 

Numbering 3 or 5, they are arranged in the front upright, with
horizontal adjustment in both directions and angular adjustment
provided in each individual idler-roll support.
